Dog who was abandoned by pawrent and dumped with blanket and pile of food, rescued by Texan who found him loving forever home with their family, rescuer says: ‘This dog is so sweet and I cannot imagine dumping him.’

Dumped dogs are a growing problem on this planet, but for one Nashville local, leaving a doggo behind is simply not an option. And so we invite you to hear her story as she stepped up to save a poor pupper who was abandoned near her home.

It is not often that the offending pawrent is seen dropping off their pupper on the curb to never be seen again. But this is how our story starts today, with our hero's husband coming upon the poor pupper sitting beside a pile of their belongings just as their pawrent started to drive away. And thank goodness for their timing as who knows how long it would have taken someone to find the poor doggo and what might have happened in the meantime.

From there the process of rehabilitation and rehoming could begin which considering the sweet and easy tempered nature of this pupper was a simple straightforward process that landed him a home with our hero's parents who gave the pupper hope and a loving place to call its own for the rest of its days. Exactly as each and every doggo deserves in this life.

Talk about heartbreaking. This is one of the more mortifying moments we have heard about in the world of doggo dumpings. The pain and anguish born of a moment like that for both the abandoned doggo and the abandoning pawrent is simply something that no one deserves to deal with. We can only wonder what was going through this pawrent’s mind, especially that they obviously had time to think about the fact that it might help the person who wanted to rescue the doggo to have the doggo’s things near it. It is an act of inexplicable inhumanity.

It really gets to us that time and again it seems to be the sweetest, most well mannered doggos who wind up in these positions. It is not the problematic reactive dogs who cannot be calm for more than a minute at a time. It is the sweetie boys and girls who would not hurt a fly, love cuddles and belly skritches and will love their family furever so long as they love them back. And yet it is the latter kind who are most often found abandoned, scared and alone. You have to wonder if it might just be easier to rid yourself of a sweet natured pup that it is a crazy canine.
